THAT'S HOW I'M SPENDING CHRISTMAS
A Soldier’s Song
2009

When I was a little girl,
I had a cowboy birthday party,
I wore my new outfit to school,
At nine years old, I felt so cool,
I had a gun upon each hip
Of my new red cowgirl outfit,
And after school we headed straight
For ice cream and some birthday cake.

Chorus: And now it's lock and load,
And we're going downtown,
We're gonna have ourselves a Christmas Party,
Defender of Freedom, that's the USA,
And that's how I'm spending Christmas,
And that's how I'm spending Christmas.

We were playing on the bank,
Beside my house we did deploy.
I was Dale, and there was Gene,
Zorro, Lash LaRue and Roy.
We all got comic books for favors,
Could not stop 'til the battle's won.
Until dark, we played our parts,
Had so much fun, no homework done.

Chorus...

When I grew up I wanted to be
A soldier for Uncle Sam, that's me.
For freedom we have left our home,
I'm overseas with no cell phone.
And so no matter what their rank,
For all our soldiers, I give thanks.
They help freedom shine for you and me
Brighter than a Christmas Tree.

Chorus...

Red, White and Blue Christmas
2nd Edition
In honor of our female soldiers
2008

We miss you, our daughter,
Like we do every day of the year.
We miss you this Christmas,
In our thoughts you are with us, my dear.

You're our Defender of Freedom
That's how you are known,
We miss you at Christmas,
Love from your folks back home.

The whole congregation,
Keeps you always in all of their prayers,
They pray for your safety,
Seems like such a long time you've been there...

You're our Defender of Freedom
For Red, White and Blue,
Our Defender of Freedom,
And we're so proud of you!

As I write this letter,
All the family, they say tell you “Hi,”
They all speak about you,
And they miss you, which they don't deny.

Not only your family,
Thinks daily of you,
You're our brave family soldier,
For Red, White and Blue.

Your friends ask about you,
They say that they are so proud of you,
They say you're a hero,
And our neighbors, they all think so, too.

You're our Defender of Freedom
For Red, White and Blue,
A Red, White and Blue Christmas,
We love our emails from you.

We miss you at Christmas,
Yes, we're counting the days, it's well known.
We miss you at Christmas,
All your friends, they can't wait 'til you're home.

A Red, White and Blue Christmas,
We miss you, it's clear,
Come home soon, precious daughter,

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

A Christmas Letter From Your Family
A Song to Honor our Military at Home and Abroad
2007

I miss you at Christmas just like I do each day of the year.  I miss you at Christmas, but the baby he won't shed a tear.  'Cause you're the best daddy and husband, my own...I miss you at Christmas... can't wait 'til you get home.

Our church congregation keeps you always in all of their prayers.  They know you're in danger just as long as you are over there.  You're defending our country, the Red, White and Blue...you're defending your country, and I'm so proud of you.

Your Mama and Daddy, all your family they say tell you "Hi."  They all speak about you, 'cause they miss you, and sometimes they cry.  Like all of your family, I'll be there for you, as you are for your country, the Red, White and Blue.

Our friends ask about you...they say that they are so proud of you.  They say you're a hero, and our neighbors, they all think so, too.  You're defending our country, the Red, White and Blue...a Red, White and Blue Christmas, and I'm dreaming of you.

I miss you at Christmas...we're all counting the days, yes, it's known.  I miss you at Christmas, you know I just can't wait 'til you're home.  A Red, White and Blue Christmas, our country thanks you...'Cause you're serving our nation, the great Red, White and Blue.
