Dr. Boone Croons Third Christmas Tune for the Troops

Colorado Springs, COLORADO, November 17, 2009 -- The men and woman of our Armed Forces will be honored again this Christmas by Dr. Pat M. Boone who has written, sung and produced a patriotic tune in recognition of their service to our country.

The song, That’s How I’m Spending Christmas, has an old fashioned rock-and-roll theme, ala Elvis Presley, and draws on the melodies of her home state, Tennessee.

That’s How I’m Spending Christmas is based on Dr. Boone’s own true life experience of wanting to enlist in the military. However, unlike the character in her song, Dr. Boone was over the age limit when she tried to serve.

Dr. Boone, a member of the Military Affairs Council in Colorado Springs, was inspired by the unending dedication of our troops who give us the ultimate gift of liberty and freedom.

This is the third year in a row that Dr. Boone has provided her gift to the troops – an original Christmas song written in their honor – free of charge to listen or download at www.RedWhiteandBlueChristmas.com. Family members can also receive a free CD to send to their soldier simply by requesting one.

FREE CHRISTMAS SONGS HONOR MILITARY MEN AND WOMEN

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado, December 16, 2008 -- The Christmas Rush is on to "get the word out" to our soldiers worldwide that there are free Christmas Gifts for them. A musical tribute of two patriotic Christmas songs to honor and encourage our military personnel are free to listen or download at RedWhiteandBlueChristmas.com, and a free CD is also being offered.

It all began last Christmas when singer/songwriter Dr. Pat M. Boone wrote and produced a jazz song entitled "A Christmas Letter From Your Family." The "letter" was from a wife to her military husband who was away from home during the Christmas Holidays. Then female soldiers, who make up 20 percent of our United States Armed Forces, emailed Dr. Boone that they wanted "their" version of the song. To accommodate their request, Boone produced the Christmas 2008 Edition of "A Christmas Letter From Your Family" to honor our female soldiers, a "letter" from a mother to her daughter.

Here are some suggestions to help the public get these free songs to support our troops:

  • Download the song at RedWhiteandBlueChristmas.com
  • Ask your favorite radio station to honor our troops by playing the CD
  • Include the website RedWhiteandBlueChristmas.com on your website, in your newsletters, or anywhere else that you think might be appropriate

Christmas 2007, singer/songwriter Dr. Pat M. Here's what's being said about the Christmas 2008 version of “A Christmas Letter From Your Family”:

“Dr. Pat Boone has done it again...spanning the distances, foreign and domestic, between the loved ones and women everywhere supporting our freedoms.  Make sure to take her up on her offer to download this tribute to the best our country has to offer.  It will be the first step in a journey of personal fulfillment that indeed brings joy to the hearts of all who hear this message.  Thank you Pat for your most generous outreach...the ultimate gift of the holiday season!

-David P. Csintyan, CEO
Greater Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce

“Many years ago, when I was young and bold, I flew Army helicopters in Vietnam.  I remember vividly the feelings of being so disconnected with loved ones far, far away during the holiday season.  The comfort of knowing people back home are supportive of the soldiers, airmen, and sailors by their display of loyalties in the form of creative works in very heartwarming.  Dr. Pat Boone's Christmas music is a great demonstration of such sentiment, and we salute her as an American Patriot.”
